The Gaden Jangtse Tsawa monks continued to construct their sand mandala on Friday, one of several Tibetan Buddhist ceremonies taking place this week during Tibet Cultural Week at Laguna Beach's Neighborhood Congregational Church.

The public is invited to observe the mandala-building this weekend. On Saturday, the monks will work on the mandala from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.

After the mandala is completed, it will be dismantled, symbolizing the impermanence of existence. This event will take place at noon on Sunday, September 25.

It's also a beautiful lesson in detachment from possessions, identification, etc.
