The 1860s in America were a time fraught with changes, not only in the political sphere but also in terms of a woman’s position in society and, particularly, the role of the wife of the President of the United States. In her one woman show, playwright/actress Gay Storm portrays Mrs. President, as Mary Todd Lincoln preferred to be addressed, providing insight into this complex, independent-minded woman. Celebrate President Lincoln’s birthday a day early and see history from another perspective in “Presenting Mrs. Lincoln” from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 11, at the Laguna Presbyterian Church.
Tickets for the play and complimentary Victorian tea are $15, with a reduced price of $10 for seniors, teachers, Laguna Presbyterian Church members, groups of 10 or more and DAR members. The Laguna Presbyterian Church is located at 415 Forest Avenue at the corner of Second Street in downtown Laguna Beach. Entrance is in the rose garden. There is plenty of metered parking available.
