Laguna Food Pantry Is Recipient of $2,500 Gift from Sodalis Piano Quartet's Debut Concert

The debut performance of the new Sodalis Piano Quartet reaped a $2,500 donation for the Laguna Food Pantry.

The May concert, performed in the sanctuary of the Laguna Beach United Methodist Church, was presented by pianists Pennie Foster, the church’s organist, Deborah Glass, Daniel Thompson and Michael Vantrease. All are involved in the church’s music program. They played a selection of crowd-pleasing music that included Mozart, Joplin, and Sousa.

Joining the newly formed quartet on the program were several other pianists, Brent Argo, Elaine Converse, Jasmine Madlener and Kyla and Noah Anderson-Clausen.

“The Laguna Food Pantry was honored to be the beneficiary of the Sodalis Piano Quartet’s public debut concert,” said Andy Siegenfeld, the Laguna Food Pantry’s director. “We’re grateful to the Laguna Beach United Methodist Church’s mission outreach committee and Rev. Cindy Williams for this generous gift. It will go a long way because we can use the money to purchase food staples at one-sixth the retail cost through the federal food program.”

The Laguna Food Pantry, formerly the Laguna Resource Center, offers free, fresh, nutritious food items to any food-insecure family or individual in the Laguna Beach area. Located at 20652 Laguna Canyon Road near the Dog Park, the Pantry is open weekday mornings and run entirely by volunteers. Phone: 949-497-7121 www.lagunafoodpantry.org
