Flood Warning Issued for Coastal Areas

The National Weather Service is seeing heavy rainfall move onshore, bringing a chance of coastal flooding and waterspouts.

Rain fell across the region, and forecasters warned that thunderstorms and mudslides threaten the region. A flood advisory is in effect for Orange County’s coastline until noon today.

Radar imagery showing a downpour moving onshore between San Clemente and Laguna Beach indicates localized flooding is possible in areas with poor drainage or clogged drains, according to the National Weather Service.

National Weather Service forecasters said the rain would be light, except when accompanying thunderstorms, which could also generate hail and gusty winds. Additionally, waterspouts are possible off the Orange county coast, forecasters said.

Lightning strikes could be seen off the coast this morning. The lion's share of today's precipitation was expected to reach land this afternoon. Today's damp weather, expected to last through this evening, is the product of a cold upper-level low-pressure system. The snow level will generally remain above 7,000 feet, and there could be up to 3 inches of snow at higher elevations in the San Gabriels, according to the NWS.

The NWS forecast highs today of 55 on Mount Wilson; 65 at LAX; 66 in
Avalon; 67 in San Gabriel; 68 in Long Beach, Downtown L.A., Saugus, Palmdale
and Burbank; 69 in Pasadena and Lancaster; 70 in Newport Beach; and 71 in
Anaheim.

A warming trend will begin under partly cloudy skies Friday and send
temperatures back into the 80s on Sunday, according to a long-range NWS
forecast.

For those rude Pro. Photographers that think they own the beach and demand you get out of their shotRead More you can call Jim Barris 464-6669 or the non emergency (911) (949) 497-0701. I called the city and found this out after a photographer kicked my dog for being in "his" shot.
