Friendship Shelter Teams With KXRN for Holiday Gift Drive Friday

Friendship Shelter and Laguna’s only FM, KX 93.5 will be collecting holiday gifts this Friday 12/14 from 12pm-2pm in the parking lot at 303 Broadway, Laguna Beach.

The following items will be collected for Friendship Shelter programs: twin comforters, twin sheets, pillows, razors, deodorant, shaving cream, laundry detergent, economy sized and “pods”, cleaning products, local movie ticket vouchers, and $5-10 gift cards to subway. Friendship Shelter is the only residential shelter in south Orange County. A self-sufficiency program in Laguna Beach, for which there is always a waiting list, provides a home-base, three meals daily and a wide range of support services to 32 men and women at a time. Graduates may apply to Henderson House, located in San Clemente, where 24 residents live for up to one year, allowing them to consolidate their gains and continue on the path to independent living.  Friendship Shelter also operates the City of Laguna Beach’s emergency shelter at its Alternative Sleeping Location.

KXRN is a non-commercial, member-supported radio station dedicated to connecting Laguna's creative community through unique, alternative music, local performances, and public affairs programming that informs, educates, entertains, and inspires.
