The Laguna Beach Community Foundation recently announced the appointment of Thomas P. Davis and Jerry Bieser to their board of trustees.

A Laguna Beach resident since 1976, Davis is the founder and principal of Davis Law, APC and he has a vast background in charitable efforts. He is founding director of Chhahari (Nepalese Orphanage) and has held leadership roles with OC Epilepsy Society, Laguna Shanti, Friendship Shelter, SchoolPower Endowment Fund, Surfrider Foundation (National) and ACTION (Aids Care Teams). He also supports the YMCA, SchoolPower, Laguna Playhouse, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and the Laguna Beach High School Drama and Athletic departments.

“Laguna Beach is a very special community and I was honored to be asked to join the Board of Trustees of the Community Foundation. Laguna is home to scores of nonprofit public benefit corporations that do good work in almost every kind of charitable cause imaginable—from the arts, to caring for the sick and needy, from education to the environment.  Being a part of the Laguna Beach Community Foundation means being in the middle of all of this good work,” said Davis.

Jerry Bieser has lived in south Orange County for thirty-one years and is currently vice president of sales of Chicago Title Company in Laguna Beach. He has been an active member of the Laguna Beach Board of Realtors since 1981 and through this association he co-created the Charitable Assistant Fund, co founded the Taste for Charity and spearheaded several other Laguna Beach charitable and community efforts.

Bieser says, “I’ve always felt that ‘the more you give, the more you get’ so it my great privilege to serve as a trustee of the Community Foundation and one that I’m certain will be very rewarding. I look forward to bringing a broader awareness of their important work while further expanding philanthropic efforts in Laguna Beach.”

Jerry and Tom bring the Laguna Beach Community Foundation board to twelve community leaders including Board Chair, Rick Balzer, Treasurer & Founding Chair, Laura Tarbox, CFP, Nicole Anderson, Esq., Donnie Crevier, Jane Egly, Esq., Mary Ferguson, James P. Fletcher, CFA, Lyneé M. Kniss, Esq., John G. Mansour and Lisa Mansour.
