This is the tree the Laguna Beach City Council Members voted in favor of cutting down in the southern part of South Laguna; it has been taken down today (09/03/13). Shame on them!
My only hope is that the horrible and unnecessary destruction of this majestic healthy tree will serve to educate the City Council Members, voters, and newcomers to our city into understanding that we need to respect nature, long-standing landmarks of scenic value, and the history of neighborhoods. A truly magnificent gift of nature has been removed for no good reason. May the mistake of cutting it down make everyone realize how important it is to save other beautiful trees which embellish our city.
