Longtime Maintenance Man to Retire

John O'Hara has been keeping the city of Laguna Beach clean for more than 30 years.

He's been working to keep Laguna Beach clean for more than 30 years, but his retirement is right around the corner, city officials reported

John O'Hara, the city's public works maintenance leadworker, has worked for the city of Laguna Beach for 34 years, according to a city memo. He will retire on Sunday.

"John has been involved in almost every aspect of Public Works maintenance operations over the years, but is most recognized as the guy driving the big tractor on Main Beach most morning," the city memo stated.

A farewell reception was held for O'Hara at the Whitehouse on Wednesday night.
