Teens Talk Healthy, Active Lifestyles

Dozens of teens gathered last week at a town hall meeting in Laguna Beach to talk about healthy eating and living an active lifestyle.

Held at the Boys & Girls Club of Laguna Beach's teen center, the meeting was held Thursday and hosted by the teen center's Triple Play Leadership Club whose goal is to spread awareness and educate other youngsters about the benefits of eating a healthy diet and getting plenty of exercise. At the town hall meeting, Mission Hospital, Anthem Blue Cross and a Boys & Girls Club of America representative were in attendance.

“I’m really impressed with the knowledge of the teen panel here in Laguna Beach," said Lauren Price, assistant director of public relation of the Boys & Girls Club of America. "It was a great turn out!”

The Triple Play Leadership Club's “Teen Cuisine” program was highlighted at the town hall meeting. As part of the weekly culinary arts program, club members create and prepare nutritious meals .
