A Challenge for United States Navy Families: How Much Can You Raise for the Genesta Family?

U.S. Navy friends and families, come up with creative ideas to raise funds for the family of John Genesta, a USN veteran who served in Vietnam.

The Genesta family is going through a very dark time right now.

On June 1, United States Navy veteran and Sawdust Festival artist, John Genesta fell off a ladder and suffered multiple bodily injuries. Because the VA Medical Center of Long Beach was filled to capacity, it had to turn away Genesta at the time. The veteran was forced to seek medical attention at another hospital. Now, his medical bills near $1 million.

Due to the accident, Genesta has disabilities. Lisa, his wife, cannot work due to the fact that she suffers from two diseases. The couple may be forced to leave their Laguna Beach home. If they leave Laguna Beach, John Genesta will not be eligible to show his art work at the Sawdust Festival.
