View Finder: Behind the Scenes at Laguna Beach's Patriot's Day Parade

It takes a village like Laguna Beach to create as special an event as the Patriot's Day Parade. Parade planners and participants pulled out all the stops for this year's edition, themed "Welcome Home."

The City of Laguna Beach and the Laguna Beach Patriot's Day Committee presented the 45th annual Patriot's Day Parade in downtown Laguna Beach on Saturday. Before the parade began, the staging area was buzzing with activity. Participants prepared to go marching down the streets in this year's parade, themed "Welcome Home."

According to the LBPDP's website, "The simple words of the parade theme for 2011—'Welcome Home'—can evoke a myriad of feelings about family, community and nation." Each special group in the parade presented their interpretation of what "Welcome Home" means to them.
