Writer, director, and producer Peter Navarro, a Laguna Beach resident and a professor of economics and public policy at UC Irvine, will be happy to take questions after the film screening.
Death by China is a documentary feature that pointedly confronts the most urgent problem facing America today–its increasingly destructive economic trade relationship with a rapidly rising China.
Since China began flooding U.S. markets with illegally subsidized products in 2001, over 50,000 American factories have disappeared, more than 25 million Americans can’t find a decent job, and America now owes more than 3 trillion dollars to the world’s largest totalitarian nation. Through compelling interviews with voices across the political spectrum, Death by China exposes that the U.S.-China relationship is broken and must be fixed if the world is going to be a place of peace and prosperity.

Dear Lagunites,
I would like to personally invite you to a very special evening this coming Thursday, November 15.
The Laguna Beach Film Society is sponsoring a showing of my new documentary film Death By China; it’s a story about how China’s unfair trade practices and human rights abuses are taking a tremendous toll on both American and Chinese workers and the broader American economy.
I’ve traveled across the country with the film, conducting Town Hall meetings after its showing; and every single event has been very interesting – from New York and Los Angeles to Toledo, Detroit, and Milwaukee.
This week I’d love to hear what my hometown thinks about this very important issue. So please consider attending.
All proceeds will benefit the Laguna Beach Film Society and the Laguna Beach High School Baseball Team.
You can attend the 7 p.m. screening on Thursday night at the South Coast Cinema right in downtown Laguna Beach. Tickets are $10 and five dollars for students.
Alternatively, you can pay $20 and come to the Pre-Screening Reception hosted by the Laguna Beach Film Society at the Laguna Art Museum as well as the movie.
Tickets can be purchased online at www.LagunaArtMuseum.org/LBFS or over the phone by calling 949.494.8971 x203. You can also purchase tickets at the time of the event.
Hope to see you there. If you want to view the film trailer of Death By China, you can visit the website at www.deathbychina.com
Sincerely,
Peter Navarro
