Documentary Screening: Collecting Dust

Collecting Dust takes an in-depth look at the Sawdust Festival during the summer of 2010.

The Sawdust Festival is an annual outdoor summer art show, imagined as an alternative to the Festival of the Arts. Each year, the 200 participating artists build their booths from the ground up.

Collecting Dust focuses on four Sawdust artists: Greg Thorne, a 17-year exhibitor and a turquoise jeweler and antique collector; Douglas Miller, a 40-year exhibitor and a prolific acrylic painter and musician; Sandra Weir, a 20-year exhibitor and watercolorist who got married on the grounds in the 90s; and Mira Lisa Schiratis, a first-time exhibitor and a mixed-media painter who dreamed of exhibiting at the Sawdust as a young girl.
