John Paul Jones lecture by Dr. Susan Landauer

Join us for a lecture on artist John Paul Jones by Dr. Susan Landauer. Dr. Landauer is an American Art writer and the former curator for the San Jose Museum of Art. She curated the seminal exhibition The San Francisco School of Abstract Expressionism in 1996 for Laguna Art Museum. Recently she wrote an essay on John Paul Jones for the book John Paul Jones: The Pursuit of Beauty’s Perfect Proof which accompanies the Laguna Art Museum exhibition and is available for purchase in the Museum Store.

John Paul Jones (1924-1999) was a painter, sculptor, printmaker, and arts educator who first gained national recognition in the 1960s. Jones taught at UC Irvine from 1969-1990 and lived in Laguna Beach. This exhibition will be on display through January 23, 2011.
