Final FOA Art Talk of the Season Features W. Bradley Elsberry

Submitted by the Festival of Arts:

The Festival of Arts wraps up its summer Art Talk series on Thursday, August 29 with artist W. Bradley Elsberry. A frequent winner of the runway show, Brad will reminisce about past creations and explain how he develops an idea and turns it into a winning design. This Art Talk is a must-see for fashionistas attending the 2013 Festival Runway Fashion Show on August 31.

At last year’s Runway Show, Brad won “Most Creative Concept” with the show’s closing look entitled “Wrapping it Uputilizing packaging and wrapping material. Initially hidden inside a war-themed exterior, in a dramatic reveal model Erika Baldwin emerged from the costume in a white dress made almost exclusively from paper. Elsberry’s runway also impressed the crowd and took home the highly coveted “People’s Choice Award.”

In 2011 audience and judges alike were amazed by Brad’s winning design, which was a full-length, grand wedding dress that came off layer by layer to reveal a sexy miniskirt bodice… all in cellophane. Brad’s first win was in 2010 with a form fitted, floor length gown of fallen eucalyptus bark accented by berries, including a set of wings attached to the back that spread to a span of five feet as the model moved down the runway.
