  1. First Thursday Art Walk
    Where/When: At open galleries and stores along the streets of Laguna Beach and some parts of South Laguna. 6-9 p.m. Thursday night.
    Why go: Artists demonstrations, good snacks and enjoying fresh air and good company.

  2. Friday Flicks at the Forum
    Where/When: Festival of Arts grounds, 650 Laguna Canyon Rd. Fri., 7 p.m.
    Why go:We Are Together, a moving story filmed over a period of three years, centering on a group of child singers at a South African orphanage who use music to overcome hardship and loss. 86 minutes and rated PG.

  3. Artist Open Studios
    Where/When: Artist studios open to the public all over town. Sat., 11 a.m.-4 p.m.
    Why go: Last event of the season. Go on a free self-guided tour and peer into the creative spaces of 22 of Laguna's top artists. Free shuttles leave from the Laguna College of Art and
    Design at 2222 Laguna Canyon Rd. Parking is free.
    Pricing: Free
  4. The 45th Annual Laguna Beach Patriot's Day Parade
    Where/When: Starts at Laguna Beach High School on Park Avenue and winds through downtown to City Hall on Forest Avenue. Sat., 11 a.m.
    Why Go: "Welcome Home" is this year's theme. Get a good seat on the side of the road and view over 100 local groups as they march through town.

  5. Festival of the Whales Parade                                                                                                              Where/When: Dana Point Harbor Drive, Sat., 10 a.m. Sunday events all day, including whale watching trips (also next weekend, March 12-13).
    Why go: Join together to celebrate the migration of the California gray whale by watching floats along a route that goes along Coast Highway from Selva Road to Golden Lantern.
