Get Out: What To Do This Weekend

Theater, tidepools, museums, doggies.

It's Thursday, and it's time to think about fun for the weekend plans. Patch is checking out the latest spots and activities that can make your weekend memorable. Here are five ideas to consider.


Where/When: 1330 South Coast Highway (Hip District) Sunday 1-3:00
Why go: It's possible that a new furry companion is waiting just for you to bring to adopt into your loving home. Plus many free items including dog training is included in the adoption package.                                                                                  Price: Free.


Where/When: The park entrance is located off Coast Highway between Laguna Beach and Corona del Mar. Meet at the Pelican Point Lot #2, Saturday, 11 a.m. for tidepool walk.
Why go: Enjoy fresh air and sea breezes while exploring and leaning about tide pool life.
Price: Parking fees (an all-day parking pass is $15).

Footloose
Where/When: Laguna Beach High School drama students are channeling 1980s rock & roll in this spring's musical, Footloose. It plays throughout this weekend, with evening and matinee performances continuing through March 27.
Why go: Last chance to catch this cool, fun production that everyone's been talking about, and to support spectacular student performances.
Price: $12 for students, $15 for adults and $20 for premium seats.

Private Lives
Where/When: Laguna Playhouse, 606 Laguna Canyon Rd. Now through April 10, 8 p.m.
Why go: Romantic comedy by Noel Coward for you to enjoy with someone special. Or, considering its divorce themes, someone special whom you hate.
Price: $36-$65

Where/When: Laguna Art Museum, 307 Cliff Dr., through May 15
Why go: EXTRACT: Landscape and Figuration and Sheep from the Spring collection has something for everyone's artistic taste.
