Jazz Trio Playing Aliso Creek This Wednesday

Laguna Beach Live! is presenting three of the hottest jazz artists together on Wednesday May 15, 6 pm at Aliso Creek Inn.

Bassist and vocalist Kristin Korb has teamed up with jazz guitarist Bruce Forman and drummer Jeff Hamilton to make a new CD, What’s Your Story, and they are celebrating the release in a limited number of venues on the tour. The only Orange County appearance of the trio is May 15.

Kristin tours internationally as a performer, clinician, and guest artist with numerous jazz ensembles. Critics have praised her as the upright bass player and vocalist who sings in the tradition of Ella Fitzgerald and Sarah Vaughan and plays with the swing of the great Ray Brown. Originality is what versatile drummer Jeff Hamilton brings to the groups he performs with and is one of the reasons why eJazzNews called him one of the most celebrated drummers of our times. Jeff recently performed in two sold out shows presented by Laguna Beach Live! Bruce Forman is known for his busy touring schedule, soundtrack performances on three of Clint Eastwood’s distinguished films performance, over twenty appearances at the landmark Monterey Jazz Festival, residency at UCS’s Studio/Jazz Guitar Dept. and much more.

The concert is in cabaret club setting at Aliso Creek Inn, 31106 S. Coast Highway, Laguna Beach, and is a special benefit performance for the Laguna Beach Live!’s music education program at the Boys & Girls Club.

Boys & Girls Club Director Pam Estes says, “We are so grateful to Laguna Live for reaching out to our Club and offering such high quality musical experiences for our kids! Without Laguna Live, there would be no music at all here – and music is such an important part of life.” Recent studies have shown that students who have been given guided musical instruction for an hour or two per week have shown great improvements in cognitive skills and social skills over the course of two years. 

Tickets are $30 online and a special VIP package for $100 includes premier seating, a visit with the artist and a thank-you bottle of wine donated by Aliso Creek. Doors open at 5:00pm, and the concert is 6:00 to 8:00pm.
