Get Out: What to do This Weekend in Laguna Beach

Time for Art Walk and a stroll down memory lane with a Tony Bennett trib, among other stuff this weekend.

THALIA SURF SHOP AND FIRST THURSDAYS ART WALK
Where/When: 915 S. Coast Highway; Art Walk at galleries and open shops all around town. Thalia Surf Shop event starts at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
Why go: A party at Thalia Surf Shop on this free Art Walk evening, with entertainment celebrating the collaboration between Vans and Captain Fin Co. Art, photographs and surfboards created by Andrew Doheny and Alex Knost will also be on display. Take the free trolley or shuttle!
Price: Free.

TONY BENNETT SALUTE
Where/When: Laguna Playhouse, 606 Laguna Canyon Road. Thursday-Saturday at 7:30 p.m.; Sunday at 2 p.m. Continues through August 21.
Why go: Sit back and be swooned by I Left My Heart: A Salute to the Music of Tony Bennett. Three singers and a jazz combo will play more than two dozen favorites including "Stranger in Paradise," "Boulevard of Broken Dreams," "Rags to Riches" and a ditty you may have heard of called "I Left My Heart in San Francisco."
Price: $40-$55.

XANADU
Where/When: No Square Theatre (Legion Hall), 384 Legion St. July 9-10, 15-17 & 22-24. 7:30 p.m.
Why go: A rock & roll musical adventure following a magical Greek muse inspiring an artist to create the greatest artistic creation of all time, apparently a roller disco. Olivia Newton-John not included.
Price: $22 online, $25 at the door. Extremely limited seating.

FESTIVAL OF ARTS' JAZZ ON THE GREEN
Where/When: The Festival of Arts grounds, 650 Laguna Canyon Road. Saturday, 1 p.m.
Why go: Have a seat on the green, sip a glass of wine or refreshing drink while you listen to saxophonist Jessy J. kick off the jazz concert series while surrounded by fine art.
Price: $7 for festival admission.

PAGEANT OF THE MASTERS
Where/When: The Festival of the Arts grounds, 650 Laguna Canyon Road. Performances nightly at 8:30 p.m. through August 31.
Why go: While you're at the Festival of Arts, why not take in the world-famous Pageant of the Masters' Only Make Believe performance? Sounds like a summer day in Laguna Beach to remember.
Price: $10-$100 depending on location.
