Get Out: What to do This Weekend in Laguna Beach

Music and art with tasty summertime treats are all the talk of the town this weekend.

FESTIVAL OF ARTS JAZZ, WINE AND CHOCOLATE ON THE GREEN
Where/When: The Festival of Arts grounds, 650 Laguna Canyon Rd. Thursday, 5-8 p.m.
Why go: Take smooth jazz, good wine, delectable chocolate, surround yourself with fine art and listen to the soulful sounds of Kate Reid.
Price: Fee is $15 in addition to Festival of Arts admission ($7).

OPENING RECEPTION AND AFTER-PARTY FOR GIRLS VS BOYS: THE SUMMER OF LOVE
Where/When: AR4T Gallery, 210 N. Coast Hwy., 7-10 p.m.; after-party at Ocean Avenue Brewery, 237 Ocean Ave., 9 p.m.
Why go: Soulful surf artists Karlee Mackie and Drew Brophy  hold their opening reception, then follow with a rockin' DJ party at
Price: Free to attend.

LAGUNA NURSERY GARDEN CABARET
Where/When: Laguna Nursery, 1370 S. Coast Hwy. Friday, 6-10 p.m.
Why go: A grand piano is the centerpiece with an array of musical artists playing. Food and drinks in an intimate garden setting at the nursery is sure to make a special Friday evening.
Price: $45 in advance, $50 at the door, $60 preferred seating.

COUNTRY MUSIC AT ART-A-FAIR
Where/When: Art-A Fair, 777 Laguna Canyon Rd. Saturday, noon-3 p.m.
Why go: Kick up your heels, because you can be sure there'll be a little line dancing goin' on when the country band Sway
hits the stage.
Price: $7 gets you a season pass to the festival.

LAGUNA ART MUSEUM LECTURE WITH JANET BLAKE
Where/When: Laguna Art Museum, 307 Cliff Dr. Sunday, 1-3 p.m.
Why go: An in-depth historical information lecture with Curator of Collections Janet Blake about the artists featured in the exhibition Landscape and Figuration from the Collection, including many who lived in and around Laguna Beach.
Price: Free with regular paid admission.
