The Angels Express Train is Back, Taking You to Games On the Cheap

Hate freeway traffic? Seven bucks will get you to and from Angel Stadium this season.

Wanna skip the weeknight traffic on the way to see Your Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim this season?

Try hopping the train -- or, more specifically, what the Orange County Transportation Authority has officially dubbed the Angels Express.

A success in previous years, the Angels Express will again take fans to and from Angel Stadium for certain weeknight games, starting with the home opener this Tuesday, April 9, against Oakland. (Bonus: that's Wall Calendar Night!)

Here's what Patch blogger Morgan G. had to say about the experience.

For games that begin at 7:05 p.m., the train to the stadium will leave the Laguna Niguel/Mission Viejo station at 5:50 p.m., make all regular stops on Metrolink’s Orange County line, and arrive approximately 30 minutes before the first pitch.

Then after the game, team owner Arte Moreno will personally escort every fan home as his way of apologizing for the Angels missing the postseason each of the last three years. Kidding! Actually, returning trains will leave the stadium 30 minutes after the last out. On Friday nights, they'll leave 45 minutes after the game so fans can catch the fireworks show.

Round-trip tickets will be $7 for the general public, $6 for seniors, and $4 for kids ages 6 to 18. For tickets, schedules, and more info, click up the OCTA website here.
