Laguna Beach Forecast Calls for Sunny Start to 2013

Saturday's showers dropped .12 of an inch of rain on Laguna Beach.

The scattered showers that swept through Orange County Saturday sprinkled Laguna Beach with .12 of an inch of rain, compared with .24 that fell in San Juan Capistrano and Dana Point, according to National Weather Service records.

The system has passed through, with a few drops still possible Sunday evening, and sunny skies dominate the forecast for the start of 2013.

Sunday afternoon: Scattered showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 4 p.m. Mostly sunny, with a high near 57. Southwest wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.

Sunday night: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 10 p.m. Partly cloudy, with a low around 45. Northwest wind around 5 mph becoming east after midnight.

Monday: Sunny, with a high near 58. East wind around 5 mph becoming southwest in the afternoon.

Monday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 47. Calm wind becoming east around 5 mph in the evening.

New Year’s Day: Sunny, with a high near 62. Northeast wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the morning.

Tuesday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 47.
