African Spiritualist Sobonfu Somé Returns to Laguna to Lead The Spirit of Intimacy Ritual
West African Author and Dagara Spiritualist, Sobonfu Somé, Returns to Laguna Beach on November 15th and 16th, to perform the Spirit of Intimacy Ritual.
Intimacy is the song of spirit inviting two people to come and share their spirit together. It is a song that no one can resist. We hear it awake or sleeping, in community or alone.” —Sobonfu Somé from The Spirit of Intimacy.
Sobonfu, whose name means “keeper of the rituals,” travels the world on a mission to teach the ancient wisdom, rituals and practices of her ancestors, in the tradition of her native Burkina Faso.
Relationships are at the heart of being human; yet creating healthy ones can be a challenge. How do we create and sustain healthy connections? How do we allow spirit to be our guide? We will explore these questions while focusing on the three levels of intimacy: intimacy with spirit, intimacy with the self and intimacy with loved ones. Through ritual the door to intimacy and our gifts will open.

Friday, Sobonfu will give an evening lecture on the role of Intimacy in her culture, and will speak about her book The Spirit of Intimacy. On Saturday, The Spirit of Intimacy Ritual takes place- wear comfortable clothing and bring water.
