Living Your Gifts Girl's One-Day Empowerment Workshop
It's not easy being a girl today.
In an indigenous culture like Burkina Faso, it's believed every child brings a vital GIFT into the Village that is nurtured through mentoring, ritual, and rites of passage.
But here in the West our villages- our families and communities- are fractured, and the media manufactures a culture that is harmful for women and girls.
By age 17, an American GIRL has seen 250,000 beauty related images, has an 'average of 13 brutal thoughts per day about her body,' and by Age10, has an 80% likelihood of 'thinking she is fat.'

There is a SELF ESTEEM EPIDEMIC among young GIRLS in the U.S., who are socialized to underestimate their value. Although GIRLS talk, read, and count earlier than boys, are ready for formal schooling at earlier ages, and earn higher grades in elementary school- by Junior High, GIRLS suffer a marked drop in self-confidence, leaving them seven times more likely than boys, to be depressed.
However, there is a worldwide MOVEMENT, that is beginning to recognize women and GIRLS as 'the most powerful force for change on the planet.'

Like in Burkina Faso where every GIFT is needed and recognized, at LIVING YOUR GIFTS, we understand that the GLOBAL Community is calling women's and girl's GIFTS in NOW. Our WORKSHOPs helps GIRLS recognize their GIFTS, and empowers them to bring them out into our WORLD.
Our fun and unique workshops are designed to help girls create healthy boundaries, and live with integrity.We use the My GIFTS framework:
G-rounded, I-ntuitive, F-eel your feelings, to find the T-rue You, + S-ervice. Our day is filled with discussion, writing, crafts, and games- in a safe, confidential environment.
Your facilitators, Susan Hough (BSW, CTI Life Coach) and Jen Hutchinson (M.A., Social ENtrepreneurship) have nearly 30 years of experience working with children and teens, in various therapeutic and mentorship capacities.
