Two generations of artists will be featured at an upcoming exhibition at Lang Fine Art in Laguna Beach. David Solomon and his two daughters, April Solomon and Gaylen Solomon Corbett, will show their works in this group show running April 1 - May 30, 2014. A well-known Laguna Beach artist, David Solomon has been living and painting in Laguna since thelate 1960's. His daughters were raised in his home-based art studio and have been immersed in the local arts culture ever since. The opening reception for "Art in the Family" will be held, April 3rd, from 6-9 p.m. For more information, visit www.langphoto-fineart.com.
The style of each artist is completely unique, but somehow connected. April's detailed illustrations of mythical creatures display a great imagination and mastery of the use of light and color. Gaylen's recent mixed media paintings show her love of nature, with many pieces inspired by hikes in Laguna Canyon. Their father's work also reflects an intimate knowledge of the local scenery including watercolors of local beaches, coves and the village itself.
