The Laguna Beach Police Department conducted a drunk driving/driver's license checkpoint last night into early this morning (Friday-Saturday, Dec. 21-22) in the 1500 block of N. Coast Highway between 9 p.m. and 3 a.m.
The results breakdown, as supplied by the LBPD:
- 608 vehicles stopped and screened
- 4 DUI/alcohol suspects arrested
- 6 drivers who were cited or arrested for operating an unlicensed vehicle or while driving with a suspended or revoked license
- 1 who was arrested on other criminal charges
- 5 total citations issued
The LBPD plans to conduct more of these types of patrols in January, according to a press release.
