TOP 5 Ways To Entertain Your Kids in S. Orange County for FREE!

1) Visit your local library for Story Time. I truly LOVE story time at the library because it offers children a FREE program to interact and practice social skills with other children, listen to the librarian read the best stories in the library, sing songs (often times with a musical instrument the library provides), participate in story board activities to learn vocabulary, counting, colors, etc, and more! 

2) This Saturday, September 22, you can visit a local museum for FREE! Smithsonian Magazine is sponsoring Museum Day Live!  Click on the link, find a museum you would like to see, and your FREE tickets will be emailed to you within minutes.

3) Visit Centennial Farm in Costa Mesa! Centennial Farm is a real working farm where children can visit with real farm animals including pigs, cows, goats, chickens, horses, and roosters. You can also walk the lush gardens and learn about how and where fruits and vegetables grow.

4) Irvine Railroad Park Irvine Park Railroad is one of my favorite places to take the family. It is located in Irvine and has plenty of shady trees and picnic benches to have lunch at. Be sure to bring stale bread to feed the ducks and peacocks that roam near the 2 ponds. Also, ride the 1/3 scale train that takes you through the historic park. And for $2 a person, you can visit the OC Zoo at Irvine Railroad Park where you can pet goats at the petting zoo; and see lions, black bears, bald eagles, and more!

5) Visit your local PETSMART! This is an old standby I have been using with my son on rainy days. Visit your local Petsmart and peruse the store-long fish tank (or I like to call it, FREE aquarium), and other animals sold at Petsmart.
