Driver Plunges Car Off Cliff Drive

From Capt. Jason Kravetz of the Laguna Beach Police Dept.:

This morning at 11:44 am, we responded with the Laguna Beach Fire Department to the report of a single vehicle accident at 235 Lower Cliff Drive.  Arriving emergency personnel found that a single vehicle, being driven by an elderly Laguna Beach resident, went through a barrier and crashed onto the first floor of an apartment building.

Fortunately, the driver was uninjured in the collision, but she had to be cut out of the car because of the extensive damage.  She was not transported to the hospital.

We are still out at the scene trying to remove the car from the lower level.

Preliminary investigation indicates that she possibly hit the gas instead of the brakes and went through the barrier.
