It's the Alcohol's Fault! Teen Boy Falls Off Cliff

He was drunk and scared of the cops who arrived earlier to break up a party.

A 17-year-old boy was treated for hypothermia and extreme alcohol intoxication after falling off a 50-foot cliff and into Aliso Creek early Sunday morning.

Laguna Beach Police were initially called out to the Aliso Creek Inn at 10:45 p.m. Saturday night after receiving complaints of a big, loud party that needed to be broken apart, said Laguna Beach police spokesperson Lt. Jason Kravetz. Later, after the cops had left, police received another call at 12:32 a.m. about a boy at the party who had gone missing. He was later found at the bottom of a nearby 50-foot cliff—and in the creek—as the police were in transit to the Inn for the second time.

Police think that the boy had fled when officers responded to the first call because he was drunk and afraid. In his efforts to evade trouble (and perhaps the wrath of his parents), he apparently leaped over a barrier in an attempt to hide, but instead tumbled and wound up in the creek.
