Detectives from the Laguna Beach Police Department on Friday morning executed search warrants at homes in the Los Angeles County city of Hawthorne.
The two warrants were obtained as the result of a drug investigation that began several months prior in Laguna Beach, according to a statement issued by Capt. Jason Kravetz of the LBPD.
At one of these locations, thousands of prescription pain pills, ecstasy and marijuana were found. The exact street value of all of the narcotics is still being calculated.
One person was arrested during the operation, and was booked at the Hawthorne Police Department. He is being identified as Kevin Odel Lott, 42, a Hawthorne resident. Lott is being accused of possession of drugs for sale, possession of ecstasy, and being a felon in possession of handguns. According to police, Lott has ties to drug activity in Laguna Beach.
Detectives also seized $140,000 in cash, a Mercedes S550 valued at $80,000, a Chevy Tahoe valued at $40,000, a Mercedes R Class SUV valued at $40,000, a Dodge Charger valued at $35,000, and two handguns.
It is believed that the cash and cars were all obtained through interstate drug trafficking.
Both search warrants were served with the assistance of the Hawthorne Police Department and the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration.
