Literal Black Marks on Laguna Beach High School's Class of 2012?

As the senior class graduates Thursday, Laguna Beach police are investigating an expensive act of vandalism.

Thursday was graduation night for the Laguna Beach High class of 2012 (8 p.m. at the Pageant of the Masters grounds; avoid the area unless you love traffic), but the actions of some students—or at least individuals claiming to be students—left literal black marks on the campus.

According to an email to Patch from Lt. Jason Kravetz of the Laguna Beach Police Department, Last Friday, June 15, a custodian arrived on the LBHS campus at 4:45 a.m. to find damaged locks in the central and east quad areas. The perp (or perps) jammed the locks with some sort of industrial-strength construction glue into several doors in the quad and the Artists Theatre—gunked-up so badly that it was impossible to fit keys in.

There's more. Cafeteria windows and several doors were graffitied up with such deeply intellectual quotations as "F--- School," "F--- ya Bitchez!!" (no, they didn't actually write dash marks after the letter F in either of those, but you can figure out the rest), "12, 12, 12, 12, 12," "Seniors," and "Sincerely Class of 2012," all scrawled with black markers. Damage was estimated to be $1,000.

"We did remove some physical evidence from the scene, which we will be submitting for DNA analysis," Kravetz said.

Yeesh! Whatever happened to decorating the campus trees with toilet paper? A senior prank is one thing, but a felony is a felony.
