One person was killed today, and five others were injured, when five cars crashed on Pacific Coast Highway in Laguna Beach, police reported.

Police responded to the report of a head-on collision about 1:34 p.m. in the area of North Coast Highway and Irvine Cove Drive. Five cars were involved in the deadly crash, police said, which has closed down North Coast Highway in both directions for an "indefinite amount of time.

As of 5:30 p.m., the crash was still under investigation.

"The deceased person is still inside one of the cars and we will have the coroner respond to remove the body in a little while," Laguna Beach police Capt. Jason Kravetz said.

Five people were transported to local hospitals.

I was jogging at Crystal Cove SP when it happened. There was a BMW two-door sports car that had been racing on PCH between LB and NB back and forth several times between 1:30 and when the accident happened. I wouldn't be surprised if it was the one that caused the accident.

I'll bet you're right. I see way too much of this incredibly rude, selfish dangerous behavior on a regular basis now, especially on weekends on PCH, and it seems like there's never a cop around to catch them. All you can do, and should do, is call 911 and report them as a possible DUI, and tell them how crazy and dangerous their driving is. If you have a lic. plate #, even just a partial, it's even better. Sick f---s.
