Update: Man Killed in PCH Crash

Duy Nguyen, 24, of Santa Ana, was pronounced dead at the scene and another person was injured when two cars collided head-on Wednesday evening, according to the coroner's office.

A man was killed -- and another person was injured -- Wednesday night when a Honda and an Aston Martin collided on Pacific Coast Highway, authorities reported.

Duy Nguyen, 24, of Santa Ana, was the driver of a vehicle that went out of control and struck another vehicle about 7:35 p.m., according to the Orange County coroner's office. The fatal crash occurred in the 600 block of Pacific Coast Highway, near El Morro Elementary School, according to Jennifer Schulz, spokeswoman for the Newport Beach Fire Department. Nguyen was pronounced dead at the scene, the other victim was taken to a local trauma center with unknown injuries, she said.

Pacific Coast Highway was closed for several hours while authorities investigated the cause of the fatal crash, but it has since reopened, the CHP reported.
