A teenage patient who jumped out of a window last week at Mission Hospital Laguna Beach survived his injuries, the Coastline Pilot reported.

The mental health patient was a 19-year-old San Clemente man, according to the newspaper, who barricaded himself inside his room, smashed a window and jumped out of a second-story window onto a metal platform on Friday morning.

Laguna Beach police and fire responded to the scene and managed to convince the man to help him down from the platform.
