Two Killed in Laguna Toll Road Crash

Two men were killed, and two other people were injured, when a truck crashed on Halloween evening on the southbound 73 toll road, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The accident happened about 5:40 p.m. when a pickup truck plowed through a barrier on the Laguna Canyon Road off-ramp. According to the CHP, two men were pronounced dead at the scene, while two others were taken to Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

No other information was immediately available.

Sounds like excessive speed could have been a factor in this crash. Many people use the 73 toll road because there is much less traffic than on the 405 freeway. Everyone must keep in mind, though, that traveling at a safe speed (especially on a road with inclines and declines) is essential to safe travel.
