Update: Coroner IDs Men Killed in Laguna Toll Road Crash

Two men were killed, and two other people were injured, when a truck crashed on Halloween evening on the southbound 73 toll road, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The accident happened about 5:40 p.m. when a pickup truck plowed through a barrier on the Laguna Canyon Road off-ramp. According to the CHP, two men were pronounced dead at the scene, while two others were taken to Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo.

The coroner's office reported Esteban Dimas Alonzo, 42, of Santa Ana, was a passenger in the truck who was fatally injured. Victorino Benites, 42, was also a passenger in the truck who was pronounced dead at the scene.

The cause of the crash under investigation.

No other information was immediately available.
