A section of Top of the World Elementary School in Laguna Beach was vandalized over the weekend, authorities reported.
Graffiti was strewn on outdoor cement steps and poles in the back of the school's campus on Tree Top Lane, according to Leisa Winston, district spokeswoman said. The graffiti was reported on Monday to Laguna Beach police, police logs show.
"The graffiti was not located on or inside the school buildings," Winston said. "The nature of the graffiti could be described as nondescriptive symbols and drawings with markers and paint."
Winston said the graffiti has since been cleaned up.
