A Haunting Street Closure – Again this year on Halloween, the Police Department will be closing Oak and Brooks Streets in the 400 and 500 blocks due to the increasing numbers of “Trick-or-Treaters” who visit the neighborhood.

Airplane Noise – An agenda item to update the City Council regarding efforts to address complaints about airplane noise was planned for the November 13 City Council meeting.  This item is being rescheduled to the December 4 City Council meeting.

Artist Open Studios - On Saturday, November 3, 2012 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. will be Artist Open Studios. Participants can catch a free shuttle service from Act V, 1900 Laguna Canyon Road and take advantage of the free parking. A docent will guide participants through the studios of 36 artists along Laguna Canyon Road.  The event will be held the first Saturday of the month through March 2013. This program is funded by the lodging establishments and City of Laguna Beach. Juried Fine Art Exhibition - A reception and awards ceremony for the exhibition “Juried Fine Art” will be held on Thursday, November 1, 2012 from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. at City Hall. The exhibit features the works of 40 selected artists juried by Laguna Beach artist Scott Moore. The exhibit can be viewed through November 30, 2012. This program is funded by the lodging establishments and City of Laguna Beach.

2012 Children’s Holiday Palette Exhibition - The Arts Commission is currently accepting designs for the annual Children’s Palette exhibition. Designs will be accepted from children ages 5 to 17 who reside, attend school or art program in Laguna Beach. Deadline to submit a design is Noon on Monday, November 19, 2012. The Arts Commission will select up to 12 designs which will be mounted on wooden palettes and displayed at City Hall from November 30, 2012 through January 4, 2013.
