Measles Cases Caused In Large Part By Intentional Lack of Vaccinations

Measles cases are on the rise in California, according to the public health department.

California Public Health officials say 14 of the 32 recent measles cases are the result of purposely unvaccinated children, according to Southern California Public Radio. 

Cases of measles are on the rise in California. The California Department of Public Health has received reports of 32 confirmed measles cases in California residents so far this year. Cases have occurred throughout California. This time last year, only three measles cases had been reported.

Health department officials say 99 percent of the people who receive two doses of the measles vaccine develop immunity to the disease. Officials are urging parents to vaccinate their children.
