Bob Whalen and Steve Dicterow, winners of last month's Laguna Beach city council election, will assume their chairs on the dais tonight, Tuesday, prior to the council's regular meeting.
It will also be the final appearance for defeated council members Verna Rollinger and Jane Egly.
Afterwards, it will be time for the council to select a new mayor and mayor pro tem for the upcoming year. Since seniority usually rules in the annual rotation, those titles will likely go to Kelly Boyd and Elizabeth Pearson—but anything can happen.
Also at tonight's meeting, the council will:
- Approve a final, second reading of the controversial Social Host Ordinance and set dates for its implementation.
- Decide how much to pay Lisette Chel, the new City Clerk.
- Appoint new members to the Design Review Board and the Planning Commission.
There will also be the usual grab-bag of approvals of minutes, denials of claims, awardings of contracts, receiving of reports, stuff about stuff, and much, much more!
The council meets at 6 p.m. in council chambers at .
