New Park Completed, Trolleys Set to Return, and a Lift Station Update

Main Beach Lift Station - The underground structures have been backfilled to within a few feet of the final surface elevations.  Over the next two weeks the contractors will install: electrical conduits to the temporary control location, the odor control vault, and the force main piping in the Coast Highway sidewalk.  Daily lane closures in Coast Highway will continue for approximately two weeks until the force main piping is completed. 

Junior Lifeguards Storage Building Completed - The Junior Lifeguard storage building at Heisler Park has been substantially completed.  Minor interior shelving and improvements will be completed next week.

Frontage Road Mini-Park Completed – The Laguna Canyon Frontage Road mini-park at Woodland Drive has been completed. Benches will be installed next week and a ribbon cutting event is being planned.

Summer Trolley Service – The City’s free summer trolley service will begin June 29 and will run through September 2.

It’s Time to Renew Your Shopper Parking Permits! - Residents who have participated in the shopper permit program should have already received their 2012-2014 Shopper Parking Permit application in the mail.  If you did not receive an application or are interested in the program please visit the City's website at www.lagunabeachcity.net.  Just click the "Shopper Permits" icon located on the City’s home page. From the website, residents can purchase parking permits on-line or by mail by downloading a PDF version of the information packet and application.  The cost is $80 each for the first two shopper permits and $150 each for the third and fourth permit.  For questions, please call the parking permit hotline at (949) 497-0314.

Full Staffing of Summer Lifeguards to Begin June 23 – Full staffing of the City’s 30 Lifeguards Towers begins next weekend, Saturday, June 23, 2012.
