Orange County Treasurer-Tax Collector Shari Freidenrich made public a list of properties with five or more years of delinquent taxes and warned Wednesday that they could be auctioned if bills are not settled by June 30.

The properties in arrears are listed at ttc.ocgov.com/proptax/pta/defaulted.

Unless the owners pay up in full or agree to a five-year installment plan, the properties could be auctioned. The property tax bills may include penalties and fees levied before the date of the next tax auction.

Separately, Freidenrich reminded property owners who have moved and not received a bill to file a change of address form with the Office of the Assessor. The form is available online at ocgov.com/octaxbill. Click on "How to," then  "Request a Change of Address."

Details of delinquent property taxes are available online at ocgov.com/octaxbill. An email reminder service is available through the site.

In San Juan Capistrano (and many other cities) they are mostly HOA's with bills less than a $100. Better pay up or the wolf will come and eat your HOA! Cost them more in county employee time to keep track of those and keep a file and mail out notices than the original bill. Beauty of the bureaucracy!

Wait. What? This list is for homeowners delinquent on their State property taxes, not their HOA dues. Totally different things. You should get things straight before pointing fingers

Yep, that is what the list here is for but you can have your property taken away from you and sold if you don't pay HOA dues as well. There was an article about a woman from Germany who didn't understand/pay her dues for years (the bill came to less than a thousand) but they took her house and sold it.
