Railing Repairs; Creek Maintenance; Cash for Water Quality Improvement

Laguna Beach City Manager John Pietig's weekly update:

Alta Vista Railing Repairs - Maintenance repairs to several railings along Alta Vista Way between Glenneyre Street and Pala Way will begin today.  Minor traffic delays can be expected during the two week construction period.

Laguna Canyon Creek Maintenance - The Laguna Canyon Foundation, partnering with the Orange County Conservation Corps, has started cleaning the City maintained areas of the Laguna Canyon Creek. The cleaning includes the removal of all invasive plant species, debris, and litter within the creek and outer banks. This project will take several weeks to complete.

Water Quality Grant Funding Awarded - The City was awarded $200,000 of OCTA Measure M2 funds for the construction of the Gaviota urban water diversion unit.  This structure will divert 1,050 gallons per day of dry weather nuisance water flows from reaching the beach.  In addition to the grant award, the non-profit organization, Miocean Foundation, will support the City by funding a portion of the project.
