Teen-Drinking Measure on Docket at Tuesday's Council Meeting

The City Council will take up the controversial topic again, possibly sending it on its way to passage.

At Tuesday's meeting, the Laguna Beach City Council is expected to officially introduce the controversial social-host ordinance, which would fault parents for underage drinking that goes on in parents' homes. Fines ranging from $500 for a first offense to $1,000 for a third offense will be proposed. This will be the ordinance's first reading, and a second reading will be required before a date is set for the law would go into effect, pending passage.
