Community Corner

Readers' Choice: Best Public Servant

Who's your favorite Laguna Beach government employee or elected official? Tell us.

Got a favorite City Council member? What about the nice lady behind the counter at City Hall who helps out with all your document requests? Or the cop who gave your son the “scared straight” talk after you found that funny-smelling cigarette in his dresser drawer? Or why not your mailman? Or that awesome teacher at Laguna Beach High?

Public servants -- elected or not -- may get paid with your tax dollars, but they aren’t all as evil as the talk shows seem to think. Do you have a particular favorite? Nominate him or her below.

Patch is relaunching its Readers’ Choice program and we’re asking you, your friends, family, neighbors, co-workers and anyone else who knows about the community to nominate the best stuff in town.

We’ll accept nominations through July 9. After that, nominations will be closed, and we’ll start the voting, so make sure to get in your favorites now.

All you need to do to nominate a business or person is to add it in the comments below. If you already see what or who you want to nominate, make sure to add your comment about why it should be included, because we may not be able to add all businesses to our poll and we want to make sure the top ones make it in.
