Food Fight! Laguna Beach Principals In A Smackdown for SchoolPower

The heads of all four LBUSD schools will face off in a cooking challenge to benefit the Laguna Beach Education Foundation.

Submitted story by Kristi Cancellieri, SchoolPower VP Public Relations:

SchoolPower is spicing up its popular Lumberyard Chef Challenge by bringing in all four Laguna Beach principals for round four of the dueling-menu fundraiser.

Returning competitors Laguna Beach High principal Dr. Joanne Culverhouse and Thurston principal Jenny Salberg will team up against newcomers El Morro principal Chris Duddy and Top of the World principal Ron La Motte for the lively dinner on Monday, February 4 at 6 p.m.

At this annual event generously hosted by Lumberyard owners Cary and Suzanne Redfearn, school supporters are treated to a duo of competing three-course menus selected by the principal teams and masterfully prepared by the restaurant’s culinary team. Diners then cast votes for their favorite meal and the winning principal team is awarded the coveted top chef title.

“Chef Ortega is looking forward to working with the four principals this year in creating an exciting menu for our guests. The inclusion of the elementary school principals is a terrific idea that will hopefully introduce this fundraiser event to the parents of our younger students,” said Cary Redfearn. “Duddy and LaMotte certainly have their work cut out for them as I’m sure Salberg and Culverhouse are going to bring all they have to the competition.”

Tickets are $95 per person and seating is limited. To make a reservation, go to the Laguna Beach Education Foundation’s website at www.lbschoolpower.org or call 949-494-6811.
