Get Out: What To Do This Weekend in Laguna Beach

Support your local football team, learn how to make jam, go to the open studios of Laguna Canyon artists, take the kids on an animal tracking hike, or buy some indie holiday gifts.

FOOTBALL: LAGUNA BEACH VS. CORONA DEL MAR
WHERE/WHEN: Guyer Field at Laguna Beach High School. Friday, 7 p.m.
WHY GO? Be a part of history and cheer on the unstoppable LBHS Breakers to the conference championship game! It'll be chilly, so dress warmly, bring a blankie, and root, root, root for the home team—the Breakers haven't made it this far since the Kennedy administration. Allow plenty of time to get to the game. Walk, carpool, and take the trolleys if possible. Thisis also Hospitality Night downtown, and traffic is expected to be heavy. SEEDS ARTS AND EDUCATION HOLIDAY FOOD GIFT WORKSHOP
WHERE/WHEN: Anneliese Schools’ Willowbrook Campus at 20062 Laguna Canyon Road (at El Toro). Saturday, 4-7 p.m.
WHY GO? Delilah Snell from The Road Less Traveled Store will be presenting this class on how to preserve foods that may be given as gifts. Attendees will make recipes and will be given packaging materials. For more information, CLICK HERE.
PRICE: $65 for non-members, $52 for Friends of SEEDS members.

LAGUNA CANYON ARTISTS STUDIO GROUP SHOW
WHERE/WHEN: Laguna Canyon Artists Studios at 3251 and 3275 Laguna Canyon Road. Saturday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
WHY GO? You'll get to see the artwork of 17 different artists. A wide range of styles will be represented. "You can meet the artist and see not only the newest work, but the tools, sketches, inspirations and earlier work." For more info, CLICK HERE.
PRICE: Artwork ranges from $20 up to $20,000.

EARTHROOTS FIELD SCHOOL ANIMAL TRACKING HIKE FOR KIDS
WHERE/WHEN: Laguna Coast Wilderness Park (Willow Canyon Staging Area) at
20101 Laguna Canyon Road. Sunday, 10 a.m. till noon.
WHY GO? Kids are thrilled when they find evidence of animals, and Earthroots founder Jodi Levine will show them where to look. To register, CLICK HERE. Hiking children should be 4-6 years in age.
PRICE: $10 donation appreciated; free to Friends of SEEDS.

HOLIDAY HOEDOWN: AN INDIE ARTS AND CRAFTS FAIR
WHERE/WHEN: The Sandpiper Lounge, 1183 South Coast Highway. Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
WHY GO? A portion of the funds raised will benefit Laguna Outreach for Community Arts, a nonprofit coalition of arts educators, professional artists and advocates interested in arts education for people of all ages.
