Hundreds Fill Laguna Beach High at College Round-Up

Students hear from representatives from schools across the nation and overseas.

Many thanks to Kathleen Fay, Laguna Beach High School PTA president, for sending this article to Patch.

Hundreds of high school students, their parents, and college representatives filled Laguna Beach High School's Dugger Gym on Oct. 5 for the annual College Round-Up. The school's guidance and counseling team and the PTA hosted more than 90 college and university representatives to answer questions and provide information about their programs. Schools from across the nation, including arts and speciality colleges, took part. There were also a few representatives from schools overseas.

Students and families collected brochures, applications, admissions forms, financial aid information and more. Students also explored their options with representatives from the Laguna Beach High School Scholarship Foundation, the military, and various test prep companies.

"This is a great opportunity for students to speak directly to college representatives," said Principal Joanne Culverhouse. "It is also an opportunity for all grades, not just seniors. It's never too early to begin the process.”
