Laguna Beach High's Drake Martinez Makes All-County Team

The Breakers' star running back and safety was one of several key players in the team's 2012 playoff run.

Laguna Beach High football's Drake Martinez has been named to the Orange County Register's all-county team for 2012.

Martinez earned the Orange Coast League MVP award earlier after helping the Breakers win the league title and reach the Southern Division semifinals for the second year in a row. The squad ultimately lost to Garden Grove, just shy of the CIF championship game.

Martinez scored a total of 34 touchdowns, five of which came in just the first half of a memorable season-opening game against Bolsa Grande. The speedy running back went on to average 9.4 yards per carry, and ended the season with 1,613 rushing yards.
