LCAD Students and Staffers Showing Off Their Euro Vacation Pics

Artworks inspired by Rembrandt, Hals, Vermeer, Picasso, Cezanne and Van Gogh are on display through Jan. 18.

Story submitted by the Laguna College of Art & Design:

Students and faculty members of the Laguna College of Art & Design are currently showing off their artwork inspired by the school's 2012 European Summer Study Program with the show "In The Footsteps of Rembrandt, Hals, Vermeer, Picasso, Cezanne and Van Gogh: LCAD In Holland and France, Summer 2012."

The exhibition is currently running. It closes Friday, Jan. 18, with a reception at 5 p.m.

Each work of art in the show was created in response to the artist's experience of living in the home cities of the masters, and literally walking in their footsteps. The European Summer Study Program was an artistic journey from Haarlem, Holland, the home of Frans Hals; to Amsterdam, with the home/studio of Rembrandt and the Van Gogh museum; and then on to Aix en Provence, with Cezanne’s home/studio and actual painting sites in the local Provencal landscape.

Please join us for this special exhibition of our personal and inspired responses to the masters of Dutch and French art.

The gallery is open Mon.-Fri., noon-4 p.m. Closed Sat.-Sun.

Laguna College of Art & Design is at 2222 Laguna Canyon Rd., (949) 376-6000.
